A Few More Pics

My one-of-a-kind OAK floor console.

Some PVC pipe made perfect cup holders, MUCH better than those flimsy plastic things FORD called cup holders.

The red button is for the wimpy air horn. It sounds more like an old lady farting than an air horn.

The two switches on the left are unused, but were connected to my fog & back up lights.

The switch on the right controls the 3 outlets (the back one has my radar detector plugged in). I'm able to use the outlets even if the truck is off, as long as the switch is on.
Those wooden tinker toy looking things in the outlets are made from oak. I drop them in any unused outlet to keep stuff from falling in there (like coins).

The storage area in back holds a TON of junk & keeps it mostly hidden.

The area below the switches & outlets is separated from the storage & cup holders. It hides my wiring & makes it pretty easy to access, just 4 screws and the entire top comes off.

The wiring is hidden & everything coming into or out of the console is covered in wire loom.

Glove box mod.

I ground off some of the OEM light bracket plastic housing thing so more of the LED light would shine down & towards the front of the glove box.
Most of the light from the LED still goes out the front.

Next project is a LED under hood light.

I used some metal strapping fastened to the sides (inside the wiring area) and screwed it down using the holes from the original cup holder.
It has a little give in case somebody bangs their knee into it

It looks good but you should have counter sunk those screws and put wood putty in the holes to hide them.

The switches aren't actually countersunk, they're just real low profile... only about 1/8" to 3/16" tall.
I have the same switches above my stereo (see my other post if you haven't checked it out already).
I got a dozen of them off the evilBay earlier this year for about $20.
They're all green LED's, but they had red, blue, green, orange, maybe even yellow.
The green matches my head unit & voltmeter too.
