LEDs behind Cluster

i know that you can do what im thinkin bout in the earlier model trucks before the 04s..

im gunna attempt to do it with my A/C vents..

You cannot do a successful color change in a 95~2003 cluster by simply installing colored LEDs. The color comes from a filter layer on the back of the instrument faces. Changing to a colored LED may make the color slightly different but will not give a bright color like the blue in your picture

so....your sayin it wont work cuz there is like a film that would be in the way....

so in that pic above did he just paint or is that lights?

i was thinkin of just gettin white or blue LEDs and laying down some white or Blue translusive (light goes through) vinyl over it so it will shine...ive heard bad things bout paint and became a disaster and faded....

The vents shouldn't be a problem, though.
