I mounted mine horizontal a couple inches below the rear windshield, centered above the jack cover. Sorry no pics =\

I like it though.

I just got my clips from Underdog today, along with my metal tailgate-handle.

I've got the 4-D Cell light, which is a little bigger than some of the ones posted here. I currently have it hung with some zip-ties from a thin metal hook that is strong enough to support it, but weak enough to bend and allow quick removal of the light if needed in an emergency (beating someone's head in falls into that category, right?).

I've debated the back wall (mine's a standard cab), and the driver's-side floor board between the door and seat....
I like the C-pillar idea, but it would scare me to be in an accident with a 5 pound chunk of metal behind your head...

Has anyone considered mounting it below the steering column? It's just an idea, and I can check to see if it would clear your knees and stuff, but that would be out of the way, yet extremely easy to get to if needed....maybe?

Mine's a 4-d cell, they're not too big. You need the emergency services 5-D now that's a cop beater there.

I got mine from the hardware department of a Michigan Meijer store a couple of years ago. There are some Meijer's in Ohio, hopefully there's one near you.

I use a Streamlight Pro Polymer 2AA flash light very small and is evey bit a powerful as a 3 cell mag. And all you have to do is through it in the center console.

I've got a 3D cell and then a 6D cell, I dont think I will mount the 6 unless I use a few extra clips, but I am going to mount the 3 under the rear window.

the 6 is more for bragging rights, "you call that a flashlight, this is a flashlight" kinda thing!

I've got one of those yellow ones strapped to my fire helmet lol. They're bright mother truckers.

I mounted up my 4-D cell Mag-Lite yesterday with the clips from Underdog.

I put it horizontally, below the rear-window, below the ridge in the panel. Since I have a standard cab, it had to be below the ridge for the seats not to hit it, since it's longer than the gap between the two seats.

It's extremely easy to grab with my right hand (just reach back like you're unbuckling your seat belt, but a little farther!).

I've had mine just sitting between the seat and the door for the last year. It actually doesn't move and it is easy to grab quickly for lighting or self defense.

Mag Lite mount

I have seen alot of you with your mag lites mounted to your A-pillar. I have also read that you just screw them into the existing holes were your grab bar used to be.

My question is what if you dont have a grab bar? Can you just screw/mount the mag lite clips straight into the A-pillar?
