Will a 05 pretensioner work in a 04 seat setup?

I have a 2003 ranger XLT supercab with 60/40 seats. I have purchased leather bucket seats from a 2004 FX4 to put in my truck. The pretensioner is deployed on the passenger side seat.

This is the type:

I have found a replacement from a 2005 ranger but it is from the drivers side, not the passenger side.

Will a 05 pretensioner work in a 04 seat setup? Also, can I reverse the buckle so I can use it on the passenger side and is a 05 buckle the same as a 04 buckle?

Alternately, does anybody have a 04 passenger side pretensioner they could sell me?

Best bet is to re-use your existing pretensioners. They all swap bolt right up as full on replacements. The electrical plugs may be different from your '03 to the 04+ wiring as they swapped the wiring around in these trucks for 2004. You will need torx sockets to swap them though.

They are also side specific.

they are different from 03 to 04. your belt (03) will not latch into an 04+ latch. we ran into this issue when doing a swap in a friends 03, and will have to do it again with another friends swap this week.

also, 98-03 use torx bolts to hold the pretensioner on, 04+ use a nut.

Yes both of you were correct. All I had to do was buy some washers and 2 M10 nuts to put them on.

Thanks for the help.
