Cool Shifter Mod

So right now I still have the stock shifter for my 3.0 Edge.

I want to go with something better looking that matches the rest of my interior.

I am thinking about a blue leather with black stitching leather shift boot from stuffforyourranger.com...

pics from their website..

My dilemma is the damn ****. I know the **** is glued on, and god knows I'm not strong enough to pull the damn thing off. I have tried, and even used a heat gun.

Has anybody had any success with a project like this? I don't really want to switch the entire shifter.

I want to do something similar to what my car has.... something similar to these:

I will probably paint the console/cup holder below body color to match.

That looks nice. Did you just take everything out and custom paint it? And I am no help on the shifter issue. Never tried it. Sorry

Haha yeah. I didn't have any other less "flashy" pictures but I think you see what I mean, the interior looks nicer than the shifter.

Yes not to get off track but I used stock Dupont paint and clearcoat.

Ebay, here or dealer.

As far as the sifter goes I'd personally go with the Hurst shifter.

Basically an extended cab 4wd Ranger with a few more goodies. They no longer make the FX4 Level II model only FX4.

I don't see how anyone can like the feel of the stock shifter compared to the Hurst, the stock shifter feels like a wet noodle!

The hurst looks to be a really nice shifter that also shortens throws. But for $275, Id rather get a BL

Don't ask, just buy.

By far one of the best things I have done to my truck.

Hurst FTW!

Sometimes you can find them one here, or Ebay for cheap. I scored mine for $110 shipped to my door about 6 months ago.

The Clicking alone is pure sex lol. Click click click click click
