Mouse invasion!

Reference: 2006 Ranger XLT with AC

Was getting some smoke and other bad smells from my cabin air system. When I removed the blower I found a large mouse nest in front of the condenser coil. Can someone tell me where the little critters may be entering this area. They don't seem to be on the intake side of the blower, just around the condenser. Any help is appreciated.

Has anyone found the access openings, and screened them over to keep the mice out? I can't figure out where they are getting in!

I also had critters in my engine air filter box, but I think I eliminated that area by epoxying a piece of hardware cloth over the air intake tube.

Apparently the mouse infestation in the cabin air system is unique to my Ranger. I would have expected that others might have seen this and found a way of blocking the little critters out.

Mouse invasion

I'm still having mouse problems! I started my Ranger this morning and shortly after I turned on the heat there was smoke in the cabin. I removed the blower and there was a nest sitting on the motor speed resistors.

I have searched several times for their entry point but have as yet not been successful. Has anyone else seen this and do you have any solution?

I did pest control for years: mice can get through any opening big enough for their head (about the size of a dime) and chew through anything. Maybe that'll help find where they're coming from. Might be easier to just park somewhere else, though, a male mouse's territory is only about 20 sq ft.
