need explorer seats help

I'm sorry to re-post what so many people have already asked about but i couldn't find it even with a lot of searching. (I promise I did not post without first checking, rechecking, and checking again)

I'm hoping to put explorer seats in my '04 reg. cab, i've seen a few things about them not fitting.. Is there a year that would work for mine? I'm not worried about power anything although i don't know if they'd even come in manual.

Any input would be helpful and sorry again for the re-post

you can find them manual and i believe you have to swap out the tracks

I think we need to make a sticky for what year Explorer seats will fit the ranger! So you have an 04 reg cab, most likely explorer seats are not going to work for your truck. Regular cab rangers have longer Seat rails so unless you can find manual seats from an explorer and swap the seat rails you will be set. Or just make custom seat rails for the explorer seats. I have 02+ Sport Trac seats in my 04 Extended cab and they bolt right in. Also 02+ Sport or Sport trac seats maybe to wide so if you can find seats from a 98-01 explorer they could work with seat rail swapping.

What will fit:
98-01 Explorer 4door or 2door
02+ Sport Tracks
02+ Ford Explorer Sport (2door)

02+ Explorer 4 doors do not work for any ranger. The seat rails are very different.

i have a 99 reg cab and got explorer seats from an 03 explorer 2 door and did not fit. could not get the seat tracks off the seats from my ranger to switch them over, had to give up. However they were power seats

ok so if i went with the manual seats i would be able to just swap the rails. how hard is this to do? a few bolts and wham splat or is there any cosmetics involved cuz i'm no seamstress
