Negitive 40 Degree Problems

My heart sank when I saw ICE flash for a minute and a steady -40degrees stayed lit, right after I finished installing my overhead console. I don't know why it's not working. I got my compass to read fine, but it still shows 40 degrees. Thought I had a bad connection somewhere, - they were all fine. Thought it had something to do with the VSS nope, it's ok too, I even tried unplugging it. What would cause this??

You need to hook up the temp sensor the right way, or you bought the wrong sensor

:(

Oh2Ranger 10-10-2009 09:28 PM

well there is only 2 ways to hook up 2 wires, both gave me the same results. I bought the OHC as a kit on the classifieds here. The wires had blue and white and blue and yellow?

SVT01RANGER 10-10-2009 10:17 PM

might be a bad sensor

Vonhanson 10-13-2009 10:53 PM

kenny_216 10-13-2009 10:54 PM

^haha

that sucks. sounds like a faulty sensor.

RangerJacoby99 10-13-2009 11:19 PM

mine did this i had to unplug the battery for a couple minutes sucks cause all my radios ettings had to be redone and i had to set the compass on the ohc right again

The sensor is bad, or it is not connected.

You can switch the wires on the sensor and it will still work. I tried it on mine when i installed it.

If you need a new sensor, send me a PM. I think I still have an extra one in the garage.

I appreciate it, I took your advice, got a new sensor, it works great. I figured it was faulty, I just wanted to make sure that I hadn't done something wrong. :) Thanks for the help

ICE is a driver warning that flashes alternately with the displayed temperature for 1 minute. It can happen while driving if the measured outside temperature falls to 38F (3C) or when the ignition is turned on at ambients of 38F or lower.
