Ok, i know by following http://www.cardomain.com/ride/296394/24 how to re tint the gauges, but I'm curious if I need to buy the clear LEDs or a blue LEDs... I'm looking for the blue color from the dash lights.

So, how many 194 LED's will I need for the dash -and- the HVAC panel? Can't be more than 10? This is what I had in mind Ebay link

From what I have put together, 194's for the dash and 161's for the HVAC... but those ebay bulbs look like they will fit/work for both.

and last, but not least... the dreaded head light ****... I know I can use a t1-3/4 (5mm) LED with a 470ohm resistor...but I want it blue too... now, is there another bulb that I could cross reference it to? I haven't found a plug in "wedge" one on ebay?

I appreciate any help! I just want to double/triple check everything!

I had MAJOR issues getting the needles off my spare cluster, so much so that I was going to break it before the needle came off. so proceed with extreme caution

 

I had that same problem in my mustang. Im glad I got the gauges that just slip on over the needles. I don't know why more people just dont do that instead of taking the whole cluster apart. Only reason I havent put gauges in mine is because of all of the **** you have to do just to get the cluster out. In my mustang it was just 3 torx screws.

 

Yes I can, but I'm wondering what one... there are several to choose from, depending on the intensity I want. for example:

there's: 3k mcd, 4k mcd, 5k mcd, 7k mcd, 10k mcd, 13k mcd... and then there's the viewing angles.

My concern is in that I dont want to buy one for the headlight **** and have it end up being way brighter than the dash.

 

Oh, trust me, I know to do that... hopefully that's common sense for anyone working in/around the cluster.

 

The headlight is a 10 or 15k mcd led. I suggest removing the black paint of the headlight switch for a brighter indicator.

The only thing missing in the how it indexing the needles with he key in the on position and engine off. You will need to pull the pegs out to do this. Doing this got me pretty close to where its suppose to be. Tach is off by maybe 100 rpm And speedo is off by a few mph but that could be tires.

For the needles, all i used was a fork. With no effort they almost jump off at you.

yes that is a good question, and when you answer it can you also tell us if you scraped the needles too or does the blue led do all the work for you?

one more question...do those leds...the pack of 10 on ebay....do they just plug in where the stock bulbs were, or what?

 

Sanded the green off. All color is provided by the blue leds.

Needles have a small dab of white paint on the end. I changed nothing on them.

The 10 pack of ebay leds should be plug an play.
Keep in mind they are polarized like batteries plug them in wrong they just wont work. So test them before final install.

Only thing is that no lights dim now... I'm guessing that's normal or I "modded" my dimmer controller. :p
