Went over to the JY yesterday and got a mustang domelight for my ranger and have it installed. Tell me what you think. I also have a question about what LEDs fit to replace the stock bulbs in the domelight? I know I can get them from superbrightleds.com but don't know what ones will work.

Plugin LEDs suck. You will get poor results. Modify it so that you can fit multiple LEDs on a flat surface and get more light.

Like this:

Look how bright it is inside even from a distance...

Thanks for the idea. I actually had done my own LED dome light before adding the Mustang one. When I got the truck they had no dome light in it so I made my own. Been feeling kind of lazy this week thats why I was just going to get plugin ones but maybe I will try to modify it to fit customs. Here it is maybe I will modify it or use those same boards that you used in yours.

Why not get ones like that, but with adapters so they plug into your stock sockets. I have them there freaking bright. SMD's are brightest.

White 16 SMD LED Car Auto Dome 3022 194 Ba9s Light Bulb - (eBay.ca item 300278874725 end time 03-Jun-09 23:48:07 EDT)

this second one is the one i have.

LED Car 3022 T10 BA9s 194 Interior Dome/Door Light,W9L - (eBay.ca item 290311751870 end time 21-May-09 02:16:27 EDT)

I think you mean SMT "surface mount technology"

Those boards will be bright, but far from optimized as the gaps between the LEDs are significant.

Soldering and wiring in connections is not hard, or to be scared of.
