Had a guy customize a set of factory seat covers for my truck. Anyone know how much of a pita these are going to be to install?

No idea but by the looks of that they're sure going to look good!

My 03 buckets came apart easy but it is time consuming.
The back is removed first, the you can unfasten the covers.
The covers should pull inside out to remove and do the reverse to install.

What kind of a price are you paying ?
Why I ask is there is a shop on this site that seems OEM REpo Set Covers, a little pricey but they are nice stuff, goos workmanship and the material IS OEM.

Anyway luck with them, take your time and do it right the first time.

Possibly the same guy. I got these off eBay, found him through a link from this site

to save you trouble, buy a hog ring pliers. youll go nuts putting it together otherwise.

They were $290 for the pair which I felt was fair considering wet okoke covers are $230.

Thanks for the heads up on the hog ring pliers.

04+ seats are much harder to get apart than 98-03 seats. but still doable. give yourself a full day to do them.

06RangerXLT Mar 28, 2013 03:37 PM

full day??

theres 4 8 mill bolts, and a few plastic clips and hog rings. i swapped covers in my truck in an hour, i swapped backs in 45 minutes, i installed FX4 lumber in an hour 30 with my of fabrication parts.

flat head screwdriver, 8, 10 and 12 mill, 6" extension, your set.

just take your time so you dont rip anything.

06RangerXLT: where did you get the parts to add lumbar?

drppdyllwrngr Mar 29, 2013 03:31 AM

i could do them in that time, but having the experience working on them all day every day puts me there. i talked a member though getting a set apart over the phone, and it took an hour just to get the first seat apart. someone without a lot of experience is going to a lot of time into these seats.

Yeah hopefully it won't take all day. I'm a mechanic, and while I've pulled seats and replaced arm rests admittedly I've never pulled seat covers off before.

drppdyllwrngr Mar 31, 2013 03:45 AM

buy a good set of hog ring pliers.

03DualSport Apr 5, 2013 06:38 PM

Did 1 seat the other night and it took about 90 mins to do with a good set of hog ring pliers and after having watched how to vids on other vehicles. The other side should go a bit quicker...
