Yep, brand new truck came factory installed with the Black Widow security system. Sorry I couldn't get a better picture of it, my digi cam is a POS and after a dozen shots I gave up and this is the best one I had.

F that. id take it back and tell them to set off a bug bomb in it, then spend as much time cleaning it as possible. God do i hate spiders. We had a big *** one in our basement one day and i took this bug spray down to kill it. The thing wouldnt die. and this is industrial strength bug spray used by exterminators. i know i soaked it for about 5 seconds straight with the stuff and it just kept running around. eventually i took a can of starter fluid and sprayed it and just set it on fire. that killed it.

Don't think I have that option in the truck, but it sure would be fun. So far its been hiding behind the kick panel and I've only driven it during the day, pretty sure black widows are nocturnal so it hasn't caused a problem. I don't mind spiders normally but something about venomous women that eat their spouse doesn't sound appealing.

Gah *shivers* lol, I dont midn spiders, but if I knew a black widow was in my own truck I wouldnt feel like driving around till I knew it, and all of its next of kin, were crushed under my boot. I do secon that on the bug bomb and factory cleaning though, might be something good to do in that circumstance.

Haha, I hate spiders, but you think thats' bad. My sister had a rattlesnake get loose in her '85 Mustang lol.

She foolishly gave a guy a ride home from work who had a snake box with 5 rattlers in it. When he got home one of the snakes was missing. Dont ask me why, lol that was 20 years ago and I still shake my head.

Anyway we called animal control and I gotta give that guy full credit he pulled the door panels and was halfway up the dash for over 3 hours. He didnt see anything. We let the car sit for 2 nites with the windows down and the hatch open. And then my dad made me drive her car for a week "just to make sure" it was gone lol.

Those first few times of getting in that Mustang was pretty unnerving!

I see them on a daily basis at my dad's storage facility. We have a pastry torch handy when we have to cut the lock on a unit.

yeah, I think I agree, I would take it back to factory and let THEM make sure there weren't any more venemous critters in my truck b4 I drove it again, I that would freak me th f*** out. Or you can let the salesman drive if for a while and see what he thinks about drivin around with a black widow in the truck.

The stealership won't touch it, so I'm going to have to get into it myself. Though I may try talking to someone else tomorrow when I go in again to get the tires replaced since they wont balance. You should see the ridiculous size weights they have mounted on the rims, biggest I've ever seen. You think that'd tell them something is wrong when they have to bust out those mammoths.

in the summer i keep a can of raid in my truck, and every week or so, I spray behind me mirrors.
If that was in MY truck, and my truck was new, Id take it back to the dealer and tell them they can have it back, as id refuse to drive it.

I have a MAJOR spider phobia.... Like I nuked my bedroom and my computer room on more than one occasion. and when I catch a spider in the house it drowns, it doesnt die from the Raid, it DROWNS. God i hate spiders *shivers*

I have also been known to pull off the thruway onto the shoulder and nuke my truck with raid if i catch one of them 8 leggers crawlin acrossed my windshield... U wanna talk phobia.... I am worse than your mom!

I hate killing spiders, I hate every other bug that it feeds on much more than I do the spiders. I'll catch and release if I can.

You can keep it. I'll pass on that mod. I have seen them at my old elementary school the size of the palm of my hand.

So small... so deadly. I wouldn't get near that thing. Spiders dont scare me, but if it can kill me i'll keep my distance.

Two words:

SHOP-VAC!! Suck that baby out of there!

Then put the vac out on the curb for the garbage engineers to dispose of....

dude **** that.

i would demand that the dealership do something about it.
you have pictures of the spider in your truck, and you just bought it.

call and ask if they would like you to get bit and sue them for everything and more.

make sure they show you the dead spider.

this is about as big as spiders get here in SE michigan, ive only seen a few that are bigger.

as far as i know none of the spiders around here can kill a human, but the bites sure do suck.

Actually they really dont kill many adults. But they will mess you up bad! They dont have enough poison to fatally hurt a full size adult. Yea they can still kill you but its unlikely that you die.
