My mustang domelight refinish

Well I bought a Mustang dome light for the truck. Big thumbs up to him, I bought a grey one to match truck. I guess im a bit particular, but the finish on the light was really good, just a little wear spot where you hit the maplight buttons and also where the bulbs get hot, the plastic was discolored on the inside a little. So i decided to match the black accents in the truck a little by painting my domelight Satin Black with Krylon Fusion for Plastics.

Here is the Domelight before, you can see the little discoloration by the button hole:

And here is during the process:

For those of you that have never tried Krylon Fusion, its is honestly the best spraypaint on the market IMHO. I have used both the regular Fusion and the Fusion for Plastics ans they coat soooooo well and even! Plus the sating black has such a nice sheen to it.

I will be installing the dome light this weekend, ill update the thread then!

I'm not sure what would work best there.

Do you have an estimate of the space available in the bulb locations?

I used the stock replacement LED bulbs in my 150 and they work fine. Its not as bright as a LED board but its plenty bright to light the truck up at night. Not too expensive either. If you want to do the boards I have a soldering gun and can actually use it pretty decently.

I would order them from V-LEDS.COM | LED Dome, Map, License Plate, Reverse, DRL, Turn Signal, Brake Lights, much better quality.

The bulb size is a 194, so any of these would work.

I would go with these personally

Looks great! I'm really wishing I took the one out of my parts car before I sold it... and Krylon is great!

Nice job on the dome light...
Fusion FTW.

Just order some T10 base LED bulbs from evilBay, probably 9 LED's per bulb should fit. They'll REALLY make a difference.

Here's mine, 2x 9 LED T10 bulbs & a 6 LED festoon (long round bulb):

BTW: A cheap solder iron is only about $5

R the bulbs different for the Map Lights.
Make sure to get the LED Bulbs that have some extra downward light.
Looks good,
