? on OHC mod on Gen 2

I see that the vss has positive and ground (ecu pin 3+/6-) on a 2.3 gen 2
So my ? is which wire(GRAY/BLACK? ON OHC) does the vss connect to, positive or ground?

The reason I ask is I've read not connecting the wire will give irregular temp readings.

I haven't had a problem with it. Mine has always been within 1 degree from my phone.

not trying to threadjack, but can you change the temp reading on the OHC from F to Celsius and vise versa?
