OHC question

I did a search but I'm having a hard time finding what I'm looking for. I was at a You-Pull-It the other day and found a 94 Explorer Limited with a decent looking OHC. I started ripping it down but was wondering exactly what part of the wiring harness do I need and what does it connect into on the Ranger? Do you need to splice it into something or do I need the factory connectors?

Just curious before I go cutting a hole in my headliner and find out I can't get it to work lol

I was looking for a center console too without the information center thing built into it and with just the storage compartments, but couldn't find one.

When you take down the OHC there will be a wiring harness attached that you have to unplug to take the OHC completely out. Get as much of that wiring as possible. It will run to the drivers side down the a-piller to the dash. The more of this you get the better. You will have to splice 3 of wires behind the radio, 2 too the dome light and 2 too the front of the truck to the temp sensor. With it being a limited I would guess that it has a sunroof? From what I understand they are a lil different too wire up so I would wait and find one with out the sunroof. Plus the sunroof models don't have the sunglasses holder.

It looked like an aftermarket sunroof, the kind that just tilted open. It didn't have the sunglasses holder but had the garage door opener holder. I'll see if I can find a newer one next time I go up. There were a lot of OHC brackets still available though. Just about every Explorer there had at least the bracket. I thought about grabbing some and putting them on Ebay lol

Im pretty sure all the OHC's out of a 97+ Explorer are the same. There are just diffrent colors and sunroof/no-sunroof models. So finding a newer one isn't really important. The garage door opener is the sunglasses holder as long as the people who owned the Explorer didn't take out the piece to hold the sunglasses.
