Painting Interior Handles..

I'm planning on painting my interior door handles since they are all marked up, but i'd like to match my stock silver radio bezel. Is there an exact paint out there or am I trying to get as close as possible. Thanks!

Dont know but you could just paint them both so they are the same color.

yea, i''ve considered that too, but Im quite happy with that silver color. If I can't get close enough I may just repaint them black and coat it.

eh, just paint em both silver.

I recently painted my radio bezel. I'm going to do the black on the door panels when it warms up a bit.

I did mine in duplicolor ford silver charcoal. I don't think its the same as my silver radio bezel but it matches my FX4 silver needles hats and trim around the gauges.

Very pretty, I plan on doing my edge door handles bodycolor (sonic blue)

That looks real good. I usually think painted interior looks tacky but I like the way that looks.

crazymikey 03-04-2009 05:21 PM

That looks really good

FRXLT 03-04-2009 05:35 PM

yea I used a duplicolor's truck, suv clear coat for it. After I got about 2-3 coats of paint on it I let the paint cure for about a week. Then clear coated them about 3-4 coats and let it sit for another week. I put the door handles back on the door panel and did 1 more coat of clear then let it sit for another week. It's a long process but the paint won't chip this way. I'm redoing my whole interior black as well as adding the second skin sound deadening material to my floors, headliner, doors and back of the cab.

Is that door panel painted black or was it black already?

FRXLT 03-04-2009 05:37 PM

I painted it black. I have grey interior right now. Soon to be black!:biggthump
