take the radio bezel off and start peeling. if you don't get it all off, then it will not look right. you can use rubbing alcohol to help get it off...

yup! All of them start peeling at about 3 years i think. I peeled all of it off, sanded it, primed it, painted it in John Deere Blitz Black....lookin' good for morethan like 3 years now.

yep +1. take it off, and start peeling. get it all off, and use sandpaper in the hard corners and paint that bad boy wit hlike 3 layers. make sure its a good paint. sped some cash. mine looks perfect cuz the paint matches the stock radio color perfectly

I noticed this in my exploder there is a shiny spot where it looks like it chipped off. Sounds fun, I'm just afraid I won't get the paint in the creases right and screw it up.

its no big deal....your just rattle canning. there's no where that you can't get paint...meaning i highly doubt anyone who competent in rattle cans, can do this no problem. i aint hatin' ya. thin coats....nothing heavy.

Mine hasn't been too bad, and it's not too noticable to me. Eventually I may end up painting it, but for now it works for me. Mine's peeled in a 1 inch by 1/4 inch section so it's not too bad.

Only things I've spray painted was center console and arm rest in my last exploder and a tonka truck. I'll have to see if I can find a paint close to the color of the truck.

mines just a scratch so im going to wait a bit longer to paint it.
just kinda pisses me off that the truck (even though its an 04) dosent even have 16000 miles on it and its chipping
my dads 99 explorer has chipped for some time now so every once in a while he chipps more off. i like the under color in his exploder better. shiny black instead of flat black
