My 01 Edge has it also, I love having it. Put it in 5th and set it, makes drivin a stick on the highway a lot easier.

Looks great D.

You proably have it set where you press it a certain number of times and it triggers the pedal to the floor, with nos....haha, that would be cool.

Something like that is in the works. I need to aquire some red LED's and a pair of relays and a momentairy switch first though.

Something I DID notice ( or maybe my hearing is finally going? ) when I start to accelorate, it seems the radio goes louder?!?!?!

SSV - Speed Sensitive Volume... it's an option on some Ford Radios... or maybe all ford radios, I don't remember. I've never used it in any of my vehicles though.

only ford radio ive seen used with SSV in the Rangers is the Explorer dual media headunit, but even then I dont think it's plug and play, dont you have to splice in the VSS wire?

its not a factory hookup on the ranger, that would involve a mod

I was greatful to speak to an individual whom had a misfortune with his vehical. His vehical now ' lives on ' through all of ours.

It was a ' friendly ' sale. I asked him about it in a PM and we did a sale. If he wishes to post a price, its his call.

You should be able to find all you need in a boneyard for 100-125$ on average. Was a SIMPLE install.

Most factory Ranger radios are not SSV equipped. Some are though, especially the 6-disc HU's. In any case, the wiring is not in the Ranger harness to support that feature. If the radio is SSV capable, you can run a single wire from the HU to the the gray/black speed pulse wire to enable it.

Anther LII manual w/ 'speed control' here. Cruise is actually one of the single biggest reasons I traded away my '99 for my new truck. To get cruise I had to either go for the FX4 or LII packages..

I can put cruise control on at 25 in mine. Also my 03 edge with the 5spd had cruise control.

A Ford tech told me that hes had an odd experience adding cruise control to Rangers (Ford sells a kit, its a popular add-on down here) in that some of the Rangers are pre-wired and he literally only has to add the steering wheel (Ford kit replaces the whole steering wheel - a good way to get a factory leather wheel if you have a rubber one) and the control module and it all works, on others he had to add ALL the wiring, which makes the job considerably longer. He didn't notice any rhyme or reason re: trim level or model year.

Should someone wish to disprove me, I'm just relaying what I was told.

With all the highway miles I drive, (800+/wk) I'm probably an idiot for not having added cruise already.

Where'd you get the steering wheel cover? I had a memory foam one on for a couple years, and finally trashed it the other day. Now my wheel feels naked and skinny, so I'm looking for another comfy foam one...
