And you were worried about an A-Pillar handle crushing your hand in a wreck like that?

For a bunch of us, having an extra grab handle is pretty handy, especially on a higher then stock truck..

Thanks man, do you think that riv-nuts would work to hold the bracket on.

The sport-trac is good idea too

I got a light grey handle if anyone wants it with screws I put gauge pods up there so I dont need it.

P.S.- I just use the steering wheel to get in my truck.

^^OH...i do too. But when i see grabs on other trucks driving down the road, and they happen to be 2wd XL models....makes me jealous. lol.

Oh...I got 6 dark grey handles. lol. One set was for a member who never paid.

Oh...an ranger grabs are pretty flexible in the middle...no worries of breakin' hands.

Sorry only found one and I had to do some sweet talking for the guy to let me have it.

Well it was a succesful trip I found an 02 extended cab with the grab handle on the A-Pillar unfortunately its in black. So I'll be searching the forum for the interior colour code I know they call it graphite grey. Once I get the bracket in I'll post up some pics of the steps involved.

I also got a dome light with map lights from an 01 XLT regular cab and a coupla new lighters one for the truck and a brand new Zippo. The domelight needs the interior bulb to be rebuilt as it was broke off I think I can get the one from the Taurus to work

As far as the Sport-Trac and Explorer Sport the A-Pillars are to different to get to work. Although there was an OHC in one that would work well in an extended cab it was much longer than any of the others that I saw in here.

Just a little rant to the guy at the JY, dude its a JY not a car collection he had about 7 rangers that he said I couldn't touch cause he was fixing them and really only one looked salvagable. There were a lot of thing that I would've liked lol.

Now that I've thought about it, that truck had to have been modded. It had Black carpeting inside it, it also had the front clip and hood from an edge, the edge bedrail and the decalling said fx4. The fender flares had the rivets molded in them. It also had the ranger laminated windshield and a sirius radio hook up. Im guessing that this was an xlt 4x4
Some of the interior was still good one handle was trashed and some of the pieces were busted as it looked like it had rolled on the nose. which was to bad cause it had clear corners which were busted.
The guys was really protective of his trucks didnt want to start parting it out till I sweet talked him. The pillar still only cost me 20. The bracket however was 40 up here although It comes with the handle and mounting hardware.

went to see a buddy today and he had a heavy duty riveter so I popped off the handle and pillar and slapped in some 1/4" rivets. the bracket is in solid now.

here we go

Ok I finally got the pillar all done. It went not to bad, colour is not perfect, I'll have to dirty it up a little bit to get a better colour match the paint is just to clean and fresh right now. I'm probably just being a little to picky, lol.

Hers some pics of how it went.

test of adhesion promoter.

test coat of interior colour.

I was happy with that so I started on the front side.

I wound up putting 4 coats on the pillar as there was a little black showing through because of the texturing on the pillar

I slapped it all in and as I said, overall I'm happy witht he results

HAHAHA!! ME TOOO!!!

Thanks for bumping this thread...been meaning to bump it myself!!!

I drilled the stock punched holes to 3/8", and used 1/4" nutserts to fasten the brackets. I went with all new parts from ford....yea...expensive, but well worth it imo, as i've been searching for these plastics for over a year. lol.
