I recently bought a '98 single cab, manual Ranger and I'm trying to fix it up a bit. I'd like to find out if anyone has done a seat swap? By that I mean take the bench seat out and put in captain chairs and a nice center console. Thanks ahead of time

 

Its possible. Ill go ahead and jump in here to save you from some of the other guys that will probably jump you a bit. But there are numerous threads on the site about what fits. I have expo seats in mine which make a nice swap but i have extended cab which makes them a direct swap. For you having a single cab will be a bit more complicated. if your ok with manual seats then just swap your current seat tracks to the new seats and bolt them down. if you'd like to add power seats you'll have to custom make the brackets reusing the mounting points from your old ones. There are a few guys that had it done on here but you'll have to weld the mounting tabs from your current tracks to the electric tracks to make it work. Its possible just need to study the threads and check out what others have done. Also the expo shorty console is a nice addition for the manual trucks i have one in mine and love it.

 

Search here, like he said. There are a couple threads about trimming the center seat out of a bench. I've done it from those same threads. It's not hard.
Edit: mine was a 60/40 bench. I trimmed to make it a set of buckets. If you have a bench you will have to add two rails or remove everything and start from scratch.

 

powerstrock22, do you still have your original 60/40 seats?I'm looking to replace my original 60/40 driver's seat. Interested to purchase a good, clean, grey driver's seat, if you or anyone else has one available. Thanks.
