Problem with full length Exploder console. Pics needed.

Hi.

I tried test fitting the full console the other day......came across a fitment issues with the bottom of the console and the floor of the cab. There's a hump in the floor that gets in the way. I didn't get around to taking pics. Can ya'll post pics of your set up.....with a look at where the console meets the floor?? Could I have bought the wrong Exploder console??

Thanks!!

Shane

There will be a gap under the console. Try adding some padding under the carpet/mat to fill the gap.

Tis part of the mod. I had a rubber floor with the gap. I added a carpet on top of the console so the gap is less visible. Extra padding added beneath the floor is about the only thing to fix it.

Well.....there's a sigh of relief. I really thought I had the wrong parts. Pic of the console installed please??

Joe....how'd you gap your gap between the console and the floor?? That's not even notceable.

I didn't do anything at all, to be honest. There is actually a small gap between the cab floor and the bottom of the console on mine, but I think you'll agree it's not all that bad.

I believe the main reason why it looks like it does is because I took my time installing the console, particularly focusing on the front part. This included making sure the two studs up front lined up snug and square with the holes in the dash, which in my case entailed some decent trimming with my Dremel and razor knife. I place-fit the console several times before I got it just right.

I also used some plastic spacers and rubber washers, along with some fairly long self-tapping screws, to secure the console to the cab floor in the area where you are most likely to see the gap. This part of the console does does not sit flush with the floor and so that's why I had to use the spacers, IIRC.

That's pretty sweet job on the interior. I'm envious! Nice skills and patience, something I run short of...
