Progress on my radio bezel

I thought should post some pics of my radio bezel today. Its not quite done yet, but it will be in the truck again by this weekend. I molded in the radio installation kit and shaved the cigarette lighter cuz it didnt work and I have no use for it any way.

how did you mold in the radio install kit? did yo fill the hole with something and then use bondo? what did you use to shave the cig lighter? bondo? what about a backing? sorry for the questions just been trying to figure out how to do it myself.

When I molded in the installation kit i just used fiberglass, bondo and a lot of time.

On the back of the cig lighter there is a screw that will allow you to take off the whole thing. After the cig lighter was out I used a jigsaw to cut out the "flare" that it has. I put fiberglass on the back of the cig lighter hole and I used bondo to fill in the rest and smoothed things in.

easier to use a two part epoxy which costs about 6-7bux at autoparts store and then sand, bondo, and sand then primer with a high build primer and then wetsand and paint. its easy and should take a day or so

I didnt need to buy a new one though. I just took the origional one out and worked on it. I have had no radio in for a while now tho, which kinda sucks. I always looked for a new one on ebay but their prices run kinda high.

for the cig lighter I just put the fiberglass behind it and let it dry then i put bondo on top of the hole and sanded it. It wasnt really that hard, but if its your first time then it may take a lil bit longer than me.
