a/c freon

i had to add 1/2 pound of freon today to get my a/c cooling like it should but then again its been 100+ here, but my trucks a 1998 is it normal for trucks to lose a little freon over time because we couldn't find a leak anywhere. I figured it was low because my compressor was cycling real fast but 1/2 pound fixed it right up.

Thanks

No its is not normal to lose freon, if your losing it you have a leak, mabey a small leak but it is there. I have units at work(commerical) that are 50 years old still running on factory charge.
