What have you done below the CD player

I have a spot below my aftermarket HU that I haven't done anything with. When I put stuff in that spot it falls out when I hit the gas. My question is, What have ya'll done with that spot?

The adaptor plate? Circuit City. It came with a flush mount plate and not that cubby, not a fan of those. I just cut the switches into the spacer plate with a utility knife.

It's weird that your head deck is on top. I have mine on the bottom to utilize the track that is behind the console to hold up the *** end of the heavy sucker. There's a piece that bolts onto the back of my pionoer that slides right onto the track the oem deck use to be on.

When I do my audio/video I'm going to put a center channel speaker in that slot. Heres a pic of my old truck with the same center channel speaker below the head unit.

I used a temp/humdity LCD display to fill the gap. It's made for a cigar humidor, and has a magnetic strip on the back. I just made some metal C brackets to fit inside the hole, and the display's magnet sticks to them. Not bad for a 10 minute job, and it gives me time to figure out what I really want to do with that hole.

Yeah, Crutchfield is always pricey. I use them for product info and sizing, then look for better deals elsewhere

you gotta get like a small flathead, if you're careful it won't mark up. i've taken mine out a hundred times now and it looks new still, even after cutting out the switches. just take your time...
