Any suggestions to get this right?

Need to make a shift boot for this....leather preferred....

But how the heck is this gonna work?

Needs to be removable from the stick (maybe with velcro??), to access wiring.

take like 4 pieces of watever yer gona use leather etc., and then sew them together to make that shape, and figure out how yer gona make it stay on the stick.. maybe elastic or somthn or velcro like you said.

also e you could just get somthn that could attach to what you have left of yer stock boot

to get a good idea on how to do it,if you want to make a whole new one, just look at a shift boot from like a car,

maybe this will help

I can help you out if you swapped to a Hurst or FX shifter

Yeah, I saw that post on RPS. Sent an email to him to see, he claims to have the boot for the stock shifter and the explorer console mod.

if he has it for the stock shifter you have it made except for the removal. The fx or hurst allows the ball to unscrew so removing for access will be a cinch. I forget how the stock ball comes off or if it does (easily)

Nope. Not easy anyways. I may look to get another shifter head anyways.

Haven't heard from him yet.

JC Whitney sells some really nice ones. and I think they are decently priced, but i'm sure summit racing will sell them if jcw does.
