Sheet between door frame and door panel

Hi guys,

You know that sheet between the door frame and the door panels, is this for blocking sound? Does the stock one really work well?

The reason i'm asking is because I installed power doors and power windows on my truck and I had to some holes in it to run wire and it's not really sticking all that well now, i'm just wondering if it's worth it to put it back at all, or what would you use to glue it back?

Thanks

I just pulled mine off. I am thinking of using double stick tape. Could use double sided carpet tape but that will be real pain if you need to get it off again.

you need it because water does get down there and if that meets your door locks consider them done...

The plastic sheet is a water shield. It prevents water that gets past the outer belt line weather strip from coming through and leaking inside. I've used urethane ribbon sealer to reinstall the shield once the OEM adhesive fails to hold.

ok thanks, I used some glue (3M spray) then duct tape all around the door, that should be better than stock, lol.
