Shorty console mount help

I just got a short console and I have the bracket to mount it. My question is can someone measure approximately where the front and rear holes in the carpet are. I have an idea and a picture, but don't want to cut in the wrong spot. Also on the front I don't have the little plastic nuts that go in the floor. Can I just use self tapping screws? Can I also use those in the rear or should I put bolts through the floor? Oh yea the console is Black! Super hard to find.

Thanks,

Jason

i have a black one also.. take the seats and the carpet out..

now there is 4 round indents where the rear mount goes. and there is two slots where the plastic clips snap into in the front..

Yea I know that I had the carpet out 3 weeks ago when I put sound deadener in and wired power seats. I wish I had the console then. I saw the slots and the bumps in the floor. I was just hoping to avoid pulling the seats back out. Since I have to cut holes in the carpet anyway I was hoping I could do all the work through those holes. I really don't want to have to pull the seats back out. Maybe I could just pull the passenger seat and the shifter console.

Thanks,
Jason

set the console in, youll feel it "seat" where it goes. then cut a small hole and feel around

I made a custom console to go around my shifter and I think it is preventing the console from going all the way forward. Should the step in the console be all the way against the bump in the floor? It seems a little too far back, I might have to remove my custom console for now and modify it later.

Thanks,
Jason

The console bumps up for the floor bump, but comes back to the floor infront and behind the floor hump. It basically 'locates' the center console. I moved mine back so i can actually use the front cupholder and be able to shift the truck. lol.

Not sure if these will help...

after being moved backward(still unmounted):

Thanks! That Helps I think I will mount the front first and then figure out where to mount the rear. How do you drive around with it unmounted? The way I drive that thing would fly all over the place.

If ya don't mind me asking, what vehicle do these come out of?

Rangers and Explorers, Mines out of a ranger.

It's just kinda wedged in between the seats and it stays in place. i'm always taking it out and putting it back in because of those switches i put on it. i've got the vinyl floor and it stays in place...but it stayed in place alot better wit hthe carpeting.

Here's what i'd do....figure out where you want it. Then, take the passenger seat out, trace around the outside of the rear bracket with a marker or pen. Take driver seat out, do same thing. cut you carpet being careful not to cut wiring. Then take the arm rest off(gotta pull those caps off to do that), then out comes the bracket. Then mount the bracket, mount the console, seats back in, then just self tap the front screws.

I just picked up those plastic nuts that go in the floor on the front. I will use self tappers for the rear, maybe through bolts IDK. I think I could cut the carpet with the seats in and get the bracket in the right place. My console has about 1.5" on both sides, I have leather explorer seats. It would move all over the place if I left it in there. Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can get it mounted this weekend.

I really appreciate the pic. I had one but that one is better. It is easier to see exactly where the holes in the carpet need to be cut. Did you use bolts on the bracket or self tapping screws? Hopefully I can get this installed this weekend.

Thanks,
Jason

I have the longer console goes up to the dash I found that picture on RPS But the longer console uses the same bracket in the back

I used bolts only problem the drive shaft is right under there so they cant be to long. If you get bolts and they are to long just flip them around with the head under the truck and nut in the truck
