I am working in my 88 2.9 2wd manual, and I was replacing mirrors. The drivers side had a metal plate with threaded holes that I could secure the new mirror too, and the passenger side is missing that piece. I have tried using a magnet to see if it fell into the door, with no luck.
my question is can I purchase that piece so I can install a new side view, or have any of you ran into this and solved it another way. Thanks for any info you can provide.

he attached photo shows where the mounting bracket sits behind, and the threaded holes on the bracket should be visible through to two outside larger holes.
