Question on seats

Now I know most explorer seats are a direct swap beside a little modding to the 02+. Is there any other seats like mustang/f150 ect that is a mostly direct swap or needs just minor modding to fit?

ok..i'll take a stab.

The "old" style explorer's will bolt right in after reaming a hole or two. Talking about 1st gen SportTracs/Sports, and 01 and older Expo's. I'm positive you can swap out the seat tracks from the Stang or newer Expo, what have you....and put on your ranger tracks.

F150? idk....those seats are big....too wide for ranger cab?

That's what I figured. I'm going to start keeping an eye out for some new seats soon and just wasn't sure what all I could throw in. I already have a 1st gen exploder and those seats are okay. I much rather have some sport trac seats, but those are hard to find.

I'd say look into car-part.com and see what they have. I think it is my new favorite site!

honda civic seats from the late 90s are a direct bolt-in....right? They have a low back with a headrest usually, but they look nice after being re-wrapped.

Is this a serious question? That would be really random if they did bolt-in

maybe the civic seats aren't a direct bolt in, maybe you have to change the tracks, but the size of the seats fit in great. I can't remember for sure, but I have seen a lot of civic seats in bagged and static dropped rangers.

There are several F150 seats that are identical in size to the Ranger, specifically during the 90's model years. The 94 leather seat covers I have from Southern Manufacturing proved that.

The 04 up may look huge but certain styles should work as a replacement too.

I would think that most f150 seats would be too wide for the ranger but never know. As far as explorer seats this is what will fit. With no modifications to very little modification.
pre98
98-01 Explorers
02+ Explorer Sport
02+ Sport Tracs

02+ 4doors will not work since they are too wide and use a different style rails

I have 02+ Sports in my 04 extended cab and they fit great. Only had to make the mounting holes bigger on the seat rails!
