bench seat

Ok so Im drivin this chick I work with home last night but she says she doesnt want to go home yet so we go to cranes roost and talk for while and we get to talkin and Im really exited becuase Ill be able to get a truck again soon, and so Im talking about stuff I want to do and how the explorer seats and console looks ba then she suggest that I should put a bench seat in the truck so if Im drivin with a chick she can sit right next to me, then she went on about some story about how her dad had a seat like that in his old truck and how her mom would sit right under his arm and so on and it got me thinkin so I was wonderin if it would look good or not in a 2001-2003 ranger Im saying those years cuase its what Im lookin at $ wise

I think some of the older XLs came with a full bench seat, not a 60/40. I could be wrong though. Most newer rangers are just 60/40 or buckets.

you would have to grab one of those old bench seats from the older single cab rangers probably get it re-upholstered or get a nice seat cover. And im not sure about fitment issues because you might have to make a bracket for it.

You think I could get an old bench seat out of a 85 ranger to fit cause I ve got a buddy who has one just sittin in his shed or what about one out of the back of an explorer, Ive put custom seats in before so I mean if I can get the brackets off of the stock seats then put them on the bench it should fit right? Has anyone else thought of doin this?

I think the old solid bench would look better than a 60/40 if you could get it lookin' good and get it to fit right.
Personally I can't drive without the armrest and the shifter doesn't really facilitate someone sitting in the middle seat... unless you want your hand to slip ;-)

Just to let you know, i had that EXACT same bench seat like the one you have now, its very uncomfortable for anyone to sit in little middle seat. My gf hated the little middle seat and so did i, so i just cut it out! lol

There was a thread up like last week.....where a member used a minivan bench seat on modified brackets to fit the ranger floor. Search it.

That would be the main reason my chev still has the full bench still in there, and it will have it til I'm required via nhra to put better seats in. lol.

The mini van bench seat mod is mine. If you have any questions on how I did it I would be happy to answer. I am leaving town right now and will be back monday.

Here is the original link when I did the mod:

I've been single for a while, but when I wasn't single I really wished I didn't install my Expo console, other than that I love it.
