I have a 2001 Ranger 4x4 XLT and i hate my steering wheel. I already got a new one out of an 08. Just need to find an airbag. Will it bolt right up? And does anyone have the wiring diagram i will need? I am pretty sure it won't be plug and play.

I think you may also need to do something with the clockspring but im not positive but aside that, im useless to help you on this haha. Good luck though!

Well in Ohio you technically don't need one for inspection. I wish someone new exactly but thanks for the help so far

 

I was thinking of doing the same to my 2000. I want the steering wheel out of a 04-05 XL fleet style vehicle because I don't have cruise control and neither do they so I wouldn't have extra buttons. The only reason I didn't is because I was worried that the airbag systems weren't compatible. In 2004 new federal regulations went into effect for vehicles and the ranger got a bunch of new interior safety features (like the newer style seats) so I figured they wouldn't.
