Super Duty OHC

I was wondering if anyone has swapped in a OHC from the super duty in to a ranger, I like it more than the explorer one, It has the temp, compass, MPG, miles left to tank, and I think a few more features. If it hasn't been done yet I may be the test dummy if I could get some educated help.

most 1000000% likely it wont fit the roof and headliner...

Durr I didn't even think of of, well maybe theres a way to switch the guts between the two consoles, and make it all work, I'll do some more research and go from there

You wont be able to get any of the fuel calculations to work. All of that is part of the trucks computer, functions which the rangers computer do not perform so they will not work. Although getting the temp and compass to work isnt hard.

highly unlikely. also if you ever seen the back of a explorer OHC there hardly isnt any room back there eather. and i beleave the superduty computer is bigger...

alright thats pretty much what i was curious about, guess ill just use the explorer console, would have been neat if it were practical

Couldn't you just shape the plastic on the console to get the right contour for the roof? This guy on TSB fit an exploder OHC into his Bronco (not the same roofline)..

You might have to bend up a quick bracket, but it should be able to work. I found a cool console at the JY the other day and I have no idea what it's from (I got it for like $6 and the lights work). When I have some time I'm going to try to make it fit.

Cheers,
Spencer
