Tarantula Truck...Sound Suppression...

Got a 2002 Ranger Edge...

On the highway I'm getting quite a bit of noise. Wind noise mixed in with road and general truck noise. She doesn't have carpet...just the rubber mat that covers the entire floor.

I know carpet will deaden te road noise considerably but does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve to help me deaden the noise a little more?

Drive slower?

It's an 11 year old truck lol. There's gonna be some noise.

Don't think carpet will help much at all. I've been in rangers with both. Couldn't notice a difference. Other than mine with the vinyl floor took 5 minutes to clean.

Tear out the rubber mat/carpet and dyno mat it or something similar. Others have used it.

What Morris said above, you're looking for a sound deadening material. It's a sound absorbent adhesive backed material that lays between your sheet metal floor and your carpet or vinyl floor covering. Carpet instead of vinyl/plastic flooring will help with the sound additionally.

Some brands to look into: Dynamat, BoomMat, FatMat, among many others.
