is there a bulb behind the headlight switch?

mines never had one, just curious...

buckgnarly 09-21-2010 04:45 PM

My 01 did, replaced it with an LED. It's always on with truck so it tends to burn out real quick.

Mine has never worked, and I'm not gonna bother fixing/replacing it.

I know where the switch is and what the settings are.

mine has one too...it always is on when my truck is running

drppdyllwrngr 09-21-2010 06:38 PM

yguerin 09-21-2010 07:06 PM

Is there one in the 2003 Ranger ExtCab Edge model?

robert99ranger 09-21-2010 07:15 PM

Is there a drect led swap in or one you have to make?

yguerin 09-21-2010 07:36 PM

It's probably a 194 bulb, there are plenty of Led replacement for those.

There's no replacement bulbs or an "easy" LED swap,
BUT... I do a pretty sweet LED conversion to the bulb holder. I use an OEM bulb holder and it's a plug-n-play swap... takes about a minute to install, that is after you get the dash off

I can also do the 4x4 & fog light switches too.

Anybody interested, just drop me a PM or check out my posts.

i did the led mod to mine. took all of 5 minutes to do. pretty easy.

I need to change my headlight switch one sooner or later to an LED. I notice the cardomain how-to says there are no color filters for the light. Does a regular green LED somewhat match the rest of the interior lights?

buggman 09-29-2010 03:30 PM

Color-wise my LED's are a close match, although they're a lot brighter than the stock bulb.
It all depends on the type of LED used.

You can use a low output LED that might be an exact color match, but it might not be nearly as bright, same goes for a high output... it'll be brighter but may not exactly match the other bulbs.
