My LED dome light (PICS) 56K sure

ordered the LED board of ebay this week and got it yesterday :)

heres the pics with a lil step by step so you can see everything I did...just don't fry anything, I almost did. the back of that board was exposed and when I sat it up their it threw sparks, so I took it out and wrapped the back with electric tape. Is it safe to do that?

anyways its a very easy mod, takes prolly...5 mins.

this is your OEM setup...its okay, just needs something...

nice, did you jam the wires into the base for the old bulb or did you soldier them? also did you do the board up your self or was it premade when you got it off ebay?

it was premade and made to fit any 194 socket...the guy is velocityleds, he's a fast shipper and nice quality... cost $13.99 and the thing is much brighter than that 912 bulb...I'll get some night shots later tonight...

Lookin' good man, Did you use anyhting to hold it up? I'd put a dab or two of hot glue on the back, so you can still pull it off if you ever need to.

Looks great! Makes it look so much more modern, and you'll never have to replace a bulb in that light again! Just make sure it's secured properly so it doesn't bounce against those electrically conducive screws!

yeah I actually cut a big square of electric tape to fit over the top so none of the resistors or w/e wouldn't hit those screws... that would suck so bad...

Haha...that's good. You'd be amazed what a small voltage spike will do to a good set of LED's/resistors!

Looks good! I have the same thing only in an Explorer dome light that I swapped in and in my Explorer OHC. I love the white light that it puts out. People often comment about it and say in looks "spooky" when the the interior lights are on...lol!
