Working on My Interior

I know this has been done a thousand times before me, but here is my first attempt at interior painting. This is all courtesy of the crappy paint Ford uses on the radio bezel.

So now the next consideration...should I paint the driver's side airbag cover to match?

no......

as far as the painting goes, that looks good......i like the stock radio bezel that is painted that color.....and have alwasy though it they painted the other interior parts to match it, it would look better!

were did you get the paint and how much was it if you don't mind me asking?

I used Krylon Fusion metallic silver from Wal Mart...$5 a can. I also used an automotive-strength clearcoat a friend of mine had laying around (not sure of brand or price). After 4 coats of Krylon, the clear was probably not necessary. So far it held up great...it even survived my clumsiness while reinstalling the controls.

I, too, like the stock look, which is why I stayed silver. It is brighter than the factory, but that's okay. The doors I always thought would look better if they matched the bezel. I was looking for some other accent pieces to paint as well, but for now I think I like the minimalist approach.

EDIT: BTW...Ford wants $100 for a new bezel, so don't crack it during sanding :) I always check dealer prices before modding something to see how careful I have to be.

I'm liking that silver...might do that myself whenever I get around to painting my bezel.

Here is the section I was considering painting on the driver's side airbag cover. I kinda think it would look good, but not sure. Curious to see what you all think.

Note: only the red area would be painted. The surrounding semicircle would remain black, and the Ford logo left alone.

haha...that is supposed to remind me to clean the interior. As you can see by the filth on the floor, I have neglected the inside for some time.
