atf in my 3.0 manual transmission?

Icon4 atf in my 3.0 manual transmission?
how come when i go to advanced auto parts there computer sayes my trannsmission takes automatic tranny fluid and not gear oil?
is that correct? if not what weight do i get?

98+ rangers(at least) use ATF in the power steering lines, transmission(including manual), and transfer case.



*side note: interior threads?? lol.
