This is a crazy little mod I did one night when slightly inebriated...I guess you could call it divine inspiration...

I don't think its really deserving of the How-To forum...

Tools:

Shift ****
Pocket Knife
2 Quarters
Automotive Clear Coat
Epoxy
Bottle Cap from favorite beverage

Step 1:

Take a pocket knife or some sort of tool and press insert between rubber top and plastic center piece on top of the shifer. Pry the center piece out.

Step 2:

Take the two quarters and epoxy them together.

Step 3:

Clear coat the Bottle cap (I did about 10 coats and that held up for a good 8 months) I would recommend more coats though. Since there will be serious amounts of wear on the shift **** for obvious reasons.

Step 4:

Epoxy the Quarters to the inside of the Bottle Cap

Step 5:

Epoxy the cap inside the hole in the top of the shift ****, should sit nicely on the small post inside.

I will post a finished picture of the old shifter in my truck, tomorrow, hopefully.
