Just made my reservation. If anyone is looking for a place to stay, I stll have 2 beds available in the camper, if yall want to split costs.

 

as it stands so far, I will not be able to go because of crap that has come up. if anything changes in the next few weeks i'll let you know. I have the days off from work still just in case it works out.

Well I am not going to be able to make it out this trip. I have been trying to fix the truck for the past couple weeks and have been unable to, and I am out of time.

Im gonna take you up on that. I would like to be there longer too, its too long of a drive for 4 days.

Also there is a State forest an hour north of the dunes. I would love to go check out the trails up there.

 

same reasoning for me to stay longer haha. can you drive on those trails do you know? id probably join you. I'll have brand new tires to break in haha

Alot of them have street signs so I am assuming they are minimum maintenance roads.

 

There are a ton of trails there in the Manistee National Forest. They are well marked and you can pick up a MVUM (Motor Vehicle Usage Map) from any of the ranger stations that point out exactly where you can and can't go. Also check out the tin cup, and manistee trail. They are ORV trails you can ride, but don't expect any challenge from them.

 

Can ATVS go on these trails?

 

Yes there are even more trails open to ATVs but i'm not sure what stickers or plates you might need.

 

All you need is the ORV sticker for ATV's and dirt bikes
