yeah and in oceanside money is a big prob for me and transportation is a bigger problem. recently a friend of mine took me to about 100 dismantlers and used parts resailers/pick a parts in that area before my truck broke to find something for my girls car. thanks for the tip fontana is the junk car cappitol of the i.e. but like you said it will cost me i think i can borrow 300 n thats all i got to work with. its just a ****ty situation. i actualy may have found something around march airforce base somewhere on the 215 8 miles or so south of the 60. but i need a truck to get the tranny. hey ryan if you got time this weekend maybe we can help eachother. i got the mapgas and some help i think too. thanks for all the support guys. it means a lot that you guys try and help and offer good helpful advice and tips.

well i think ryan is going to head out to my house today the tranny swap is my number one goal but if there is time we might take a crack at his BL third guy might show n if he does and the swap goes smooth and quick then we might just take a crack at the lift ill pm you my number and you can call or txt me. btw if anyone wants to pop by your more than welcome to. just pm me for my number.

 

So, we didn't get the tranny finished, last bolt on the top side refused to budge. So, hopefully they can wrap it up tomorrow without me, and we can tackle my BL next weekend. Brandon, if you wanna meet over at John's place in Menifee next weekend to help out that would be awesome. I think we should shoot for Friday, and hopefully all can make it and maybe John's friend Carlos can come out to help too. Should be good. And we can make sure John's truck is up and running good too... it was being a pain in the *** today, haha.

Yea, I made it down to Murrieta and had to turn back. No biggie tho. Good luck on the truck today, hopefully you get that damn bolt out. But yea, I'm game for next weekend. i would come down but i was at the beach ALL day yesterday and well im white and now im REALLY red im so burned i can barely move and i work on friday and dont get off until 330ish saturday might be okay and sunday is mothers days and i know all the tricks of a body lift hehe iv done a few rangers so i know what to expect

 

Well, we can plan on a Friday afternoon type thing, and if we don't finish, we can finish on Saturday. If we get done early, then we can go romp around the wilderness. Saw a lot of interesting trails/hills and stuff out there. Should provide us with some entertainment. Carlos said he would be down to help out with the BL too, so it should go quick.

 

please dont expect "quick" lol thats when parts go missing corners are cut and mistakes are made lol not fun we took our time on my truck and it took 5 hours total start to finish and we had to modify a few things but its perfect now

 

ryan what brand kit did you get your paws on... summit or PA

 

It's a PA for a 98-2000... I need to go get the fuel filler vent extension, but other than that it's the same.

 

its been a battle of attrition getting that trans out but after a maybe 10 hours or so over two days Carlos and i won. that being said the tranny almost busted its head when it dropped out and stopped on his spiky head. no one was hurt and we started prepping the new tranny to swap in. yesterday we managed to install the new tranny yesterday and when it came time to go for the test run. the same symptoms as before and no movement. it has to be something with the clutch so i had to tow my truck to his shop about 4 miles away from my house. so I've got two perfectly good trannys now ugh Ive never heard of a clutch going out in 6 months. wish me luck I'm hoping for the best.

 

Well, hopefully the parts and labor are under some sort of warranty for the clutch so it won't cost you. And, you can always sell the tranny for more than you paid.

 

or die trying right lol. yeah im not paying for him to fix it. he said it was some hook or something in the clutch kit that failed i really cant always understand what he is saying too well but sounds like he has the replacement from the place he bought it from the first time around and is putting it in or w/e so hopefully i get the Battle wagon back in working order.

hell yeah man i was able to throw Carlos a couple bucks so i think he will be able to get his grocery getter up and running now and some day soon find a cab to replace that thrashed one we saw in the back yard. anyway he said he was down for Friday Saturday you would think people would want to meet up but i don't see too much interest in socal. i guess we have a bad track record. oh well. it was so much work getting that thing out after we got the last bolts out getting the other one in was hard too but ugh. all i can say is blah.

 

Well, I'll plan on getting up there before 2pm... don't wanna hit too much Friday afternoon traffic. Hopefully we won't run into any issues with the BL. I might get up there earlier than that, but stop by Lowe's to pick up MAP Gas torch and a hose for the fuel filler vent extension... if I don't get a chance to pick it up before then.

ryan i have the filler extension haha i didnt use it in mine lol it SHOULD be just long enough that u dont need it but i have one if we do end up needing it and cali doesnt have a bad track record just a bunch of lazy people who dont really care to meet

 

Ah, right on. And, also, good news fellas.... Ryan got a toolbox. Steppies are a ***** to find, but should be getting here in the next week or so. Can't freakin' wait. Gotta get all that sh*t out of my back seats. I can't wait to get this BL on... I've been very patient, now I'm just anxious, haha.

All my truck needs after all this is a better bedliner, billet grille, some offroad lights, a set of extra reverse spotlights, get my OHC and auto dimming mirror installed, some 06 fender emblems, different color edge stickers, clean up the frame and undercoat it, ummm, I know I'm forgetting something, haha. F'in RF.... I can't stop modding my truck. LOL

 

I know, I forgot the interior... explorer buckets, explorer full center console, double din touch screen stereo, new door speakers, 4 channel amp to run those, a sub/amp... ummm... haha. FML
