I'm trying to plan other small vacations this summer and the earlier date works for me.
Anything is gonna be warmer then wtf is going on right now. -25 yesterday or the day before?!? FML!
If I gotta wear a hoodie while I wheel so be it, the middle of June or early July is dead square in the middle of the summer and doesn't leave a lot of time to plan/save for a second trip. Regardless if its a second SL trip or possibly someplace else.

This has been brought up for the last couple of years. I can't speak for everyone but I can't afford 2/3 back to back trips. I can afford one early and one later as it spaces things out.
My vacation picks were chosen a month or so ago. I'm in a union shop, I can't change my weeks around with out following that seniority list for that week in question.

Just a thought for others to where some of us are coming from. Again, I know I'm not speaking for everyone.

I wasnt suggesting a date change, I used to always go that week you guys are speaking of. I just cant now, school is typically still in session and my wife is involved with that. Plus with the snow we are having it may go into June some. Its hard for me to plan that date because of that. Plus the weather is a factor. Camping + cold is not really on my want to do list. Plus more crap to pack to stay warm. Im a wimp when it comes to cold though. My circulation sucks. lol Ive been going since 2006 and I will say the weather can be very sketchy up there in May.

I understand if no one can make changes such as Morris' job situation. Thats fine. I will post the dates I am going in a month or two if anyone else cares to go then.

I'm not trying to center me out, I know this was talk amongst others also.
I don't really go for the wheeling anymore, it's more the company and experience. Don't get me wrong, I love the bombing around but the drunken escapades are also fun.

Yep thats cool. Not everyone is going to agree on dates. Many more people involved than used to be. I was just stating I'm going late June.

I'm in the same boat as Morris. I can't go on 2/3 back to back trips during the middle, but if i plan accordingly, I can get two or three in over the course of the summer

We are trying to plan this trip to be a day or two longer than the others and since we're not made of money, We get a cheaper rate for the week we chose. Living in MI my whole life, I can say some Memorial days have been sweltering hot and others have been in the 60's. It really is a crap shoot here.

I'm pretty excited I have a chance to make it this year and I got my buddy I am transferring to Michigan with onboard. He has four wheelers so that will keep me from trashing my shiny new truck haha.

That's cool, the nice thing with our group is we had a wide variety of vehicles. Like posted, Alex is bringing some, I have one, Maly has one, rob has one and a bike. It's kinda nice to have that option if you don't wanna drive. You can ride

Yea. I think last year Maly and I were too drunk one morning, so we just rolled around in my truck until stuff stopped spinning.

Finding the balance to get on the quad is no issue. Maintaining the balance to stay on the quad is the issue.

Due to some recent developments with some people in our group. We want to move our trip earlier a bit, to either the week of the 12, or the week of the 19th of May.

Would most of you guys still be in for that?

This might be harder for my wife, apparently toward the end of the school year teachers shouldn't be taking off work

I can see that.

We're not 100% on the EXACT date yet. We do know we want to avoid memorial weekend.

The week of the 19th ends with memorial day weekend. It looks like the 12th would be the optimal weekend.
