Do your homework, our dollars are almost at par. I think it's only 10-12 cents off. So more like $5=$4.50.

It will just be me (or me and a buddy) at our site. Just rocking a tent and trucks. So if push comes to shove you are more than welcome.

I asked for the 82-84 lots to be close to everyone.

Looking at my reservation it is 4 adults max per site, 2 vehicles (trailers included) and $7 a piece for extra vehicles and trailers so it shouldn't be an issue.

My passport expires may 11th. I'm on the fence depending what the nice US customs guys say.
I've been told I can pass with an expired passport and a receipt indicating the process has started. But it's officer discretion. The fact I pass regularly is on my side.

Well gentleman, the week is here. I'm getting some brand new shoes put on the truck tomorrow morning (Firestone Destination A/Ts) and getting cash ready for all the extra required tags and my red flag. I'll be up by 3pm on Friday to get checked into Jellystone then get my registration and what not figured out. Looking forward to hanging out with everyone and FINALLY breaking in the Tacoma!

10 Day Forecast for the week:
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/12633:19

Doesn't look TOO bad. It will be pretty nice on Saturday in time for me to be there but Wednesday/Thursday/Friday might be a little sh*tty.

It usually rains one day and then we're mostly in the clear for the others.

I'll be out there around 3-4 PM on Wednesday.

I got pics too, any news Kevin?

As far as that Chevy goes, it seems like the owner was out to destroy it. No windshield and all that **** written on the side. I've got some closeup pics and the "flip back over vid".

It was fun this year. no one got hurt, afaik Alex and kevin were the only ones with damage and it was minimal.

Well guys. The story on the Tacoma was when I came over the dune that bent the flag mount it punched the core support and the radiator above the skidplate. It was pretty superficial damage and I didn't see it or notice a coolant leak. But the radiator took enough damage to spring a small leak. Since I did the damage during the day saturday, by sunday morning when we left Yogi the truck had leaked out most of its coolant. I didn't see a puddle and their probably wasn't one since I was parked on the sandy campground. I jumped on the highway and got about 30 minutes away before I got a CEL. No other lights or indicators though. I decided to soldier on and assumed I had gotten sand in a sensor or something stupid like that. A few miles later the engine blew and I limped it to a gas station. I didn't get any type of overheating indicators or coolant smells until the truck was gushing steam into the cab when I got off the exit ramp. Dealership called me the next day (after I rented a car and drove the 6 hours home) and told me I cooked the engine. Not sure what exactly is damaged but it sounded like a rod knock to me and their was a lot of metal on metal going on.

Moral of the story is do a SOLID and THOROUGH walk around and fluid check of your vehicle after any off road trip. If I would have popped the hood and checked my coolant level or even did some more investigating after I hit that dune I would have been down a radiator, instead of an entire engine.

And thank god insurance is going to cover me, otherwise I would have been $5k or $6k into getting the truck here, and getting a replacement engine, and doing a swap. Total cost damage of the whole trip was $200 for rental and my insurance deductible.

You got ******* lucking on the insurance part. Kindof shitty and foolish that Toyota doesn't put a temp light on the dash, or even a low coolant light. Then again GM decided that a low oil light wasn't needed either.

Wow Kevin, that sucks big D. Matt's right, you got lucky on the warranty. Like my story, I hit the rad and it caused a leak at the water pump. I caught it tho.

Please don't let this hinder you from coming back. Stuff happens, you just gotta be more cautious.

Yeah it's just a live and learn experience. The adjuster just sent me the total estimate and they put it at $9.5k for engine (2005 w/ 55k) and install, new radiator, new skid plate, plus touch up to the front valence. Pretty hefty bill for a weekend at the dunes haha.

But needless to say I had an absolute blast and I am only going to be an hour and a half away all summer at my new unit in Traverse City so I'll be back. Defiantly bringing a quad with me next time though!
