2000 ford ranger xlt 4wd flareside srs crash sensors

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum, I decided to register after reading some of the
information posted by the members. I have been here before, just not
registered until tonight. I worked on Fords for 14 years as a ASE Master,
of course that was back in 1996 and my main repair area was Automatic
Transmission diagnosis and or rebuild.

My wife was driving my Ranger and spun out on black ice and the airbags
deployed after impacting a hillside, not much damage but both airbags
deployed. I have new airbags and a SRS computer or control module,
I have been trying to find the crash or impact sensors, I am beginning to
wonder if it even has impact sensors. I hope someone here will have
the answer.

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4wd Flareside 2 door and I am looking
for the SRS Crash Impact Sensors.
Does my Ranger have impact sensors as part of the SRS system?
Does anyone know where these sensors are located?
Plus if this truck has the impact sensors will I need to replace them
as part of the repair?

Thank you for your time and help,
Darrell

I called the local Ford Dealer and talk to the parts department,
I gave them the vin number and ask if my truck had the impact
sensors and according to their guides my truck does not have
the impact sensors.

I also got a price on a shift cable for my Ranger, $105.00 plus tax.

I found a new shift cable, Ford part on Amazon for $53.00 plus tax
free shipping, so I placed my order, should be here between the 13th.
and the 19th. Which is ok fine since I don't have a garage to work in
and I live in Northern KY, the weather is just so nice this time of year.

Next project, get the windshield replaced and take care of some rust
areas where Ford welded the windshield frame together. Seems like
Ford could have made the truck cab body without a welded seam in
the windshield area???
