Hello!
I have a bare bones 2004 Mazda b2300 5 spd. ( hand cranked windows, sliding rear window, no a/c, as it's not really needed here in BC.) The only mods have been the addition of Air Ride suspension to level out the ride w/ the camper, and some custom camper tie downs that are bolted directly to the frame (had to take the box off to get them on) Trucks used mostly for commuting, pulling my aluminum 12ft fishing boat, and the camper, as well as occasional load of gravel. It's the only vehicle we have right now ( until kids come along, then we'll see how well 3 people fit on the seats with a car seat in there
Just looking to share what I've discovered after taking various pieces off the truck (and skin off knuckles), and to have somewhere to get some answers, 'cuz lord knows, they're are no doubt gonna be a lot of questions!
Probably the only other mod I'd like to make to this truck is the addition of a Torsen rear end.
Anybody out there tried this with the 4 bangers and able to persuade me one way or the other? I'd just steal one from an fx4 lvl II, but what with the regular cab having the 7.5" rear and one piece drive shaft, it's probably easier to just get one installed.
Overall, I'm pretty happy, save for the fact that they don't make a 4 cyl 4x4, or at least use the 3.5L used in the new 150's (more power, better fuel economy, seems like a win/win)
Anyway, good to be here!
