Back with an rbv after a long while!

So I'm back after trading in my 02 edge about 5 years ago, I've gone through 2 f150s since then and now I'm driving an 01 PSD as my dd, but I just recently picked up a 94 b3000 as a wheeler/project.

It has 160k, 6 inch lift on 35s with a welded rear with stock gears from what I understand. It has all kinds of goodies that one would want for a wheeler, but it also needs a lot to transform it from a nice wheeler to a head turning trail rig. I need to fix a few things like the gas gauge, I think it's the float but in going to put a new pump in while I'm at it. Gotta fix the blinker, I'm goin to ditch the flag mirrors and get some OEM manual "nice" mirrors ha ha. My buddy michael is hooking me up with a dash out of 98 so I'm going to do some custom dash work with aftermarket gauges, speedo and tach. I have a whole list of plans for this thing including gears, and some extended radius arms. I might jump down to 33s because the 35s are a little stuffed for the PNW trails. Anyway ill get to all that with a build thread or something. Here are some pics!

From what I understand my buddy Michael said one of the previous owners of this truck was on one the ranger forums but I'm not sure which one ha ha, if anyone has any info on this truck feel free to chime in.

I know it ain't pretty but it's going to be mainly a trail rig/project. I like my stuff to be pretty so it's a work in progress ha ha.

Here's my daily 2001 7.3 PSD 3.5 inch leveling kit on 315 75 16 BFG ATS 4 inch turbo back straight pipe, intake, and dp tuner 60 economy, 80 towing and 120 racing

The guy who used to own that truck was a member here. He either rolled it or was rear ended and rebuilt it. Welcome back though!

Thanks! The rear ending makes sense since it appears to be a ranger bed on it with a Mazda tailgate.

nice! welcome back. Thats a nice start to a weekend wheeler build. I agree with putting some 33's on instead. might be better for flex. and you paint do the front bumper black, the gray looks lame. i think that would look sick.

a-little-edgey 10-12-2012 02:58 PM

The bumper is flat black right now, just weathered. I think I'm going to put a fresh coat of paint on all the bumpers and sliders as well as the roll cage inside and out. I flexed it out on my compost pile last night and I didn't have any rubbing in the front but I thing the 33s would be beneficial as far as power since its running i stock gears.

I have to add and exhaust pipe to test my emissions so in the process I noticed there was an oil leak. The oil pan is patched with JB weld or something right above one of the drop bracket so i think that needs to be addressed.

Welcome back! I thought I remembered seeing that truck before.

GreaseMonkey01 10-12-2012 04:35 PM

Somehow, that truck is appealing to me. I like the rugged look it's got. Welcome back!
