Hello from Central Ky
Hi,
I am an oldie, because I've had a ranger before this one I have now, a 1985 XLT. Bought this truck to play and work with, 1994 w/166k 4.0 and auto trans. Had the trans flushed and inspected at two separate shops and given the ok. First trip out with trailer, 66 miles of the 200 mile trip, transmission failed. Towed it to the shop that flushed the trans and I was told $2000 to repair it w/1 year warranty. Said the front seal was apparently bad and pulling the trailer at 60 mph caused the failure. Now what??? I think for now I'm going to have a little talk with the owner of the shop, so he can explain how seals work and malfunction, less than 500 miles of service. :irked: |
