Hello from Louisville, Kentucky!

Hello everyone! I just picked up a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT, 3.0L V6 (no mods) last night. It’s not in the best shape, however, I will be slowly replacing various parts as time (and finances) allows! Please bear with me as I learn from you all! I look forward to reading the various posts and replies!

I am not able to create a signature yet so, I’ll plug my name in here! Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

Me likie the black.

Won't take much to make it look better.

Bumper valance and a spit shine, you'll be just fine.

I see some oxidation on your driver headlight. They sell crystal clear replacements on Rock Auto, eBay and Amazon. You can get the pair for around 30-40 bux. Makes a huuuuge difference!

Thanks for the welcome cliffdog! Thanks for the tips! The truck isn't in horrible shape, but needs a bit of TLC. The passenger side light assemble is broken (well, one of the top adjuster is broke off) so, I will be replacing that in the next week or so! There are a few things I want to do before we start driving it on a regular basis (tune-up, oil change, steering wheel replacement, etc.). The body has a few dents and lots of scratches all over but, I will eventually get to that! I am hoping to get a valance on there this weekend! It will be a project truck for a bit but, I am looking forward to it!

The headlight assembly is one of the easier things to replace on this thing. It's held in by clips.

The valance is not a problem, but try to find all the fasteners. You'll be heading down the road and asking "where's that rattle?"

Dents and scratches are a truck's character.
