Hello from Oregon

Picked up a '02 Ranger XLT 4x4 yesterday. Mileage is at 148xxx. But really got a good deal. This is my second one. Had a '03 black Edge a few years ago and ended up giving it to my son. He sold it to get some extra cash for school. Both of wish he hadn't!!! I really liked that truck.

Only a few problems with the new to me unit.

1. It's dirty as all get out. To the detail shop next week.

2. Broken tail gate latch handle. Picked up replacement at stealership today. Project for tomorrow.

3. The cruise control lites on right side of steering wheel out. So far my search hasn't found out how to replace them.

4. Made appointment for next week with my mechanic to replace all the fluids. Radiator, trans, transfer, both differentials, brake fluid, new thermostat and fuel filter. He's a motorcycle riding partner of mine, so I know he will really give it a decent inspection. I did the oil and air filter today.

All this will probably cost pushing a grand. But with no idea of past maintenance history and the good price I got, figure it's a good investment.

Am looking forward to spending some idle time perusing this forum!

Welcome from a fellow Oregonian!

the cruise control lights are pretty common to go out. there is a fella on here named "bugman" who is pretty handy with all of your lighting needs. might hit him up.
