New guy from Ohio

Hey whats up all, I'm matt, from newark ohio, and picked up a new project yesterday, its a 99 extended cab 2wd ranger, i was helping a buddy of mine build it as a drag truck, and he has a kid and one on the way, so he decided it had to go. You can check out the details on the build on my profile on here, and it is a work in progress. I have a TON of stock interior parts and various harnessess, so if you all need parts let me know lol.

Anyway, The motor is out of my mustang project, Made decent power when i got it, but have made quite a few changes over the last month. I'm building the truck as a street strip truck, and it will be ran in the sportman class next year at national trails. Hoping to have it completed by april, and it should be a blast!

If anyway, If anyone knows of any good sites for ranger parts that are geared more towards drag racers, let me know, i have alot of parts already, but i'm still finalizing the suspension layout and plan and a few other things, so i could use some places to gather info.

Look forward to talking to ya, and i have a few pics once i get them loaded in photobucket.

Later

will do. i do have one question, does anyone know of anyone who made a set of headers for a drag race setup? shorty style headers just wont cut it for my motor, and i wanted to compare designs and get some ideas if you knew of anyone.

Welcome, and nice looking truck! Referring to your comment about the drag style headers..Search google a bit, I found some ceramic coted ones for my truck, but it's also got just the stock motor in it..Try searching "whatever your motor is...headers", and see where that gets you..Other than that, no idea :\

It may be a few weeks before any real progress is made, and i think first step will be laying out the cage, and doing all the chassis reinforcement stuff. that will be the back bone of the build, and it will let me see how the suspension should be set up to get the most out of the truck.

Sure man, where ya at in columbus? oh and if anyone else is local, feel free to stop by Round 2 racing in newark, The owner is a good friend, and i am doing a modular 4.6 conversion on a 68 notchback mustang right now as well as a terminator swap being planned out for my 04 gt there, as well as some minor help with his t88 powered 95 gt. you wanna talk about fast, lol, the car made 601rwhp/610rwtq, and that was on a t67 and mild motor, he's aming for 1000+whp with his new setup, its cool as hell to see this car dyno. Needless to say i have alot going on lol, but its always cool to get a break to bs. I will be building the truck at home mostly, just cage, suspension mounts, and headers at the shop as i cant weld for squat :D
