Hi from CA!
Just wanted to say Hi, and introduce myself. I bought my 2006 Ranger FX4 last year, after my 2000 Ranger blew the motor up (OK, I blew it up). Ended up with the 06 4x4, but never thought I'd use the 4 wheel drive. Last month, my friend bought a FJ Cruiser, and wanted to go off-roading, so I tagged along. Needless to say, I caught the bug, and now I want to beef up my truck a little. I've been looking everywhere (on line) for advice on a minor lift (lift + rims/tires + shocks, etc..??), but have had very little luck with my 2006. Lots of kits for pre-2006 rangers, but none listed for mine :(
Anyway, thanks for the site, I am having a great time reading through all your wonderful rides, and dreaming of my perfect ride too. |
welcome to R-F, Morgan!

Great truck the FX4. I have an FX4 L2 31 spline axle in my Ranger now.
If you want to see what can really be done with an FX4, look up posts by user rwenzing (Bob) -- he's a retired automotive engineer and his truck is absolutely amazing. In many ways, it's represents what a high-end minitruck COULD have been, had Ford taken the time to make one. |

Howdy! There are plenty of things you can do with your truck, just figure out what direction you wanna go and look from there.
